Projects Around the House

As I mentioned in a previous post, our house did not need much work.

It just needed to be spruced up a bit.

So project number one was in our living/family room.

When we bought the house there was already chair railing up in the family room,

the thing with it was that it was painted the same color as the walls, and it looked dumb.

So what did we do?

We (I) took measurements of the room, decided how many boxes I wanted on each wall,

and went to Home Depot to buy some skinny molding (it cost us a whopping $36 btw),

Thomas cut the pieces to size with the correct angles and we nailed up the molding underneath the chair railing. I am a terrible writer, so this probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Here are a couple pictures to help you get the idea.

this is the room before (that tree unfortunately is not ours)

This is the room after nailing up the molding

and this is the room after we painted everything beneath the railing white.
(sorry all these pictures were taken with my phone)
See I did know what I was doing. I am really happy with how it turned out.

The 2nd project was a piece of furniture I bought at goodwill for $60.

I don't really have a during the process picture so I will just post a before and after.

This is the dresser before . . . and after.

We re-stained the top, taped it all off painted the rest this greenish color, once that had dried I glazed it, and we put a clear coat on top. I love this dresser, we are using it in our family room as an entertainment center for our movies and Nintendo and what not.
Anyway those are the projects we have been working on. Next stop Nursery.

(Probably should have been first stop)

I Can't Believe This Day Has Come

I honestly cannot believe that this boy . . . (the one on the left...haha Julia)
left on his mission today.
And when he gets home . . .
this boywill almost be as old as this girl . . .
The people of Mexico City are very lucky to have my little brother for the next 2 years. I am a little heart broken that he won't be here for our baby boy, but I promised to send him lots of stuff and to make sure our little guy knows his Uncle Teeny before he gets home.

We miss you already Tanny Baby. I have to stop writing because I am getting emotional already. You are the best.

I love my Family

I know I just did a post about 2 of my nieces Hattie and Mariah.

But I thought you might be interested to know that Mariah is Mega Mind

and she calls Hattie "Minion".
I love that girl.

I can't wait to have my baby play with his cousins!

I hope he is hilarious.

Family Discussions

We have all been debating whether Hattie looks just like Mariah.
In some pictures they definitely look like each other . . .
but I think they just look like sisters.

A little on Hattie. . . she is the sweetest baby ever.
Seriously she kills me.
She has started to make some noises and
her little voice is just so sweet.
We love her to pieces!

Anyway you be the judge . . . are they twins?
. . . Or just sisters.

(baby Hattie)

(baby Mariah)

Oh and P.S.

Mariah has been doing so good having a baby sister!

She is such a good helper, and calls Hattie "Baby sister Hattie"

And when she talks to her sometimes she calls her "Honey".

It is really cute.

The New Girl

This show looks kind of funny.
Mostly when she does the cute guy alert.
Maybe I will start watching it while we still have cable.

Also I really enjoy this clip from How I Met Your Mother . . .
When Barney is Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing.

Woo Hoo!

So it has been 5 weeks since I last posted.

Honestly life is quite boring for us right now.

Oh wait . . . just kidding.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

WE BOUGHT A HOUSE

We are so excited! It is basically right where we wanted to be
and was pretty much move in ready. We have not made the transition yet,

but we will be moving-in in the next couple weeks. There were a few minor

things we wanted to do and a couple furniture projects we (I) want to get done.

I feel so helpless though because I am not really supposed to paint since I am

pregnant, but I keep thinking of all these great ideas we could do. Then I remember

WE = Thomas and he has work and school like everyday.

So anyway that is what is going on with us right now . . . oh and I am in my

3rd trimester, no big deal. I will post pictures of the house next time. But

here is one just to hold you over. . . its not terribly flattering for the house,

but you get the idea.

(ps if you ever need a house. . . Eric Dixon is the man to call)

22 Weeks

I cannot believe I am 22 weeks along already.

It is literally insane.

We found whether I would get to start making

cute headbands, or whether I would be able to start...well I don't know

what you do to get ready for boys.

And guess what?

. . .

It's A Boy!

It has taken me a while to come to terms with it...ha ha.
No I am joking, but I was surprised for some reason.

I honestly thought I was having a girl.

Mother's intuition...what's that?

Anyway I have bought him a few things that crack me up.

(like these jammies found at target)
It is kind of fun because you can be more ridiculous with boys

I think, and they will still be cute. Maybe I am just telling myself that.

I wanted to buy this as a joke because I wanted to see how Thomas would react
But it was too much moola to spend for him not to wear it. So I took a picture instead.

Anyway I am really excited for this little guy to come.

He has had so many cousins born this year,

and I am so excited for them to be little best friends!

Happy Fourth!

I know this is a couple days late, but happy 4th of July!

In case you didn't know, the Fourth is my favorite holiday.

We got to go to Sierra Vista and visit the Clawsons

(Eloise, Mike, Kimber, Lance, Chelsea, Brodie, and Jett.)

It was so fun being with the family!
We went to Bisbee to watch the boxcar races,

Pizza Hut for an all you can eat buffet of pizza, pasta, salad, and cinnamon sticks,

and just hung out watching The Sandlot and playing games.

I picked up the guitar and jammed for the first time in a while,

and remembered how much I love it.

We drove home on the 4th because I had school the next day.

I was pretty bummed out that we had to go,

but it made it a little better seeing parts of firework shows from the road.

Basically life is good, everyone was safe and happy and free.

I am so grateful to live in the United States of America!

Pickles and Lemons

Two of the things I have been "craving" most are pickles and lemons.
I put craving in quotations because I have always loved pickles and lemons.

Want proof? Look at my favorites on the sidebar.

I swear I didn't edit it.

Anyway more important matters. . .

Annie Fanny Clifford got married.

She looked stunning. No Joke.

Want proof? Bickitty Bam.

It was so fun seeing all my friends!

Even the ones who have moved away (Lauren and Vianca)

And now Annie has joined them.
This is a shout out to Kristina Clifford and Heidi Larsen...lets play.

(Sorry Lauren apperantly you are black now)

Other exciting news includes:

*Me being 15 weeks along now

*Us finding out what we are having in 3 weeks

*Old news but still exciting...Tanner graduated.

*Thomas starts at WP Carey this fall, go devils

*We are looking to buy a house! Yay for being adults.

Its Kinda a Funny Story...not the movie

So this year on April Fools Day I pranked Thomas and told him that I was a week late . . .

Then (here's the kicker) 2 weeks later I really was a week late . . .

At that point I panicked and made Thomas take me to Walgreen's

and bought about 1 million tests . . . they all came out with the same result.

. . . So guess what?

I am pregnant!

yes that is a + sign

. . . Yes it was unexpected, but we are excited!

I am 11 weeks today.

So I guess it serves me right for trying to fool my husband.

And thinking about it now . . . I was pregnant when did that.

Good News

So life has been treating Thomas and I well the last week or so.

First we got our tax returns back . . . um holler.

Then Thomas got an interview for a job.

Then he got a second interview for the same job.

Then he got a call that said he got the job! Yahoo!

So as of April 11 he will be working at Bank of America.

We are so excited and grateful.

Also my sister in law Annie had her baby. . .

Little Elaina. She is beautiful. So much hair.

Such big squeezable/kissable cheeks. We love her so much!

So in conclusion, life is bueno.

*P.S. would anyone be interested in playing a game of softball? The weather is perfection. And we went to the batting cages the other day and it was fun.

Flowers

My whole life I have had flowers at my house.
Beautiful geraniums, petunias, portulacas, and zinnias
filled the planters and lined the walkway at my parents house.
So at our apartment we have a tiny back patio thing
and I decided it was in need of some life.
So a trip to Home Depot and 47 dollars later we had three pots full of color.
And I am very happy.
Spring is here!

Hair

As of late I have been trying new hair-do's that I have seen on other blogs.
I think they are pretty cute, but I am not sure if they are too formal looking.
I guess everything is formal to someone who sports a ponytail 50% of the time.
Anyway check them out.

First the top knot from this blog

My bangs aren't long enough to have them all the way

back so I have to pin them.

. . . and then this one called very cleverly
"three twisted buns"

Also in case you hadn't realized . . . summer is almost here.

I can almost feel my skin being burned right when I walk outside.

And I am excited. Yes I love AZ summer.

Also since my last post TWO of my best friends

(Vianca to Adam and Kristina to Craig) got married.

I am so happy for them! They were both beautiful.

And I have another on getting married in June!

Holy weddings!

But I am so excited to have more married friends.

He's Here!...and Another Suprise.

Baby Royce William Hatch is here!
He got here on Jan. 8, 2011 at around 5:00pm.
He weighed 7lbs 3oz and is completely perfect!
Here he is.

Also I am glad to report that my sissy Rach is doing great

and they got to go home the next day.

Also my other sissy Rebecca announced to our family that she is pregnant!
Yahoo! So now I have 1 sister and 3 sister in laws that are pregnant!

So exciting, crazy, fun right?

Yep so the next two are coming in March . . .

Then the twins in May . . .
And one in August.
Yes that is ANOTHER August birthday to add to our 7.
I love babies and I am excited to babysit whenever needed.

Sorry So Late

First off . . . Christmas Eve.
Thomas and I gave each other PJ's.
Thomas got me a robe to go with mine.
I don't think he actually thought I would wear it.
In fact I know he didn't think I would wear it . . .
because he said so.
But here's the thing, I wear it . . . alot.
I am always freezing in our apartment.
So in the mornings I just put it on.
And walla I am warm, and ugly.

This was our apartment on Christmas Eve.
Christmas morning we woke up at around 7 or 7:30
to open presents. It was so fun and weird having it
be just us two.

We are pretty.

After presents we (Thomas) made french toast.

It was delicious.

I miss having our tree up. It came down on Monday. Sad.

Anywho that is all I feel like posting about at the moment.

Next post: Salt Lake.
